What is a garden square? A long-existing city arrangement- a garden square is a communal garden found within a major city aligned on all four sides with typically rowhouses or townhouses facing the garden. I am familiar with the famous Savannah Georgia squares and there are other gardens squares with homes in the United States.
I have always had a rose garden in every home we purchased. I moved to Ohio in the mid-seventies and planted roses which I thoroughly enjoyed. Roses do take a bit of work, and I am not the most caregiving rose owner. But I never experienced the problems with my roses that occurred this Summer.
Update on May Garden Projects Blog Last May I wrote a blog on the state of the garden here in the Ohio condo. If you remember, we had gone through a rough winter and I had lost some roses and other plantings. Also found out some of the bulbs I planted were not chipmunk safe.
Like everyone I know, I have been waiting for Spring. I am in Ohio, but I have garden blog friends in upstate NY who are also waiting. One person is planting and storing in a greenhouse. Another blogger, with a beauty of a house and garden, Kevin Jacobs, cleaned out his pool and is waiting
